Tony has been in the industry for over 45 years, holding positions in manufacturing, testing, and engineering. In the early 80s, Tony was part of the team which developed, and produced all of the magnetic components for the MX Peacekeeper Missile program for Northrop Corporation. In the late 80s, he developed and manufactured the first high reliability Planar Transformers in the industry, used exclusively in Raytheon’s ultra thin power supplies, which still provide service in the International Space Station Freedom.

 

It was in the late 80's that Tony had the idea to start Mil-Spec Magnetics, Inc. After convincing Shelly of the idea, they agreed to separate themselves from the rest with a few defining tenants. They sought to resolve problems and build the most difficult and complicated of transformers, which were plaguing the industry. This earned Mil-Spec Magnetics, Inc. the reputation it has today of being a high end, high quality, problem solving manufacturer.

 

Today, Mil-Spec Magnetics, Inc. stays on the cutting edge of technology, with a number of proprietary processes, still unique in the industry, such as perfect layer winding and void free encapsulation on wire down to 48AWG thin, which is 4 times thinner than human hair.
